GeneType for Breast Cancer
A personalised breast cancer risk assessment test
About the test
GeneType for Breast Cancer is a test that can determine a woman's risk of developing sporadic breast cancer over a period of time. Three major factors contribute to a woman’s risk of sporadic breast cancer: genetic markers, breast density and family history. GeneType for Breast Cancer works by combining these risk factors to provide a more accurate assessment of breast cancer risk.
Clinical risk factors
Breast cancer is a multi-factorial disease. Not all risk factors, or their level of causality, are understood. Some women are at increased risk of breast cancer based on clinical factors alone. Proven risk indicators for breast cancer in women include age, a family history of breast cancer, and dense breast tissue. Knowing your patient’s personal risk leads to better health outcomes.
